ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX)-A three-year-old child died Wednesday afternoon, after being hit by a car on a parking lot in south St. Louis County.

Police tell us the accident happened on the parking lot of the Esse Health Center on Tesson Ferry near Wells Road.

Police say after the girl’s mother unbuckled her from her car seat the child ran towards two other children who had gone ahead with her aunt, that’s when she was hit by a SUV driven by a doctor.

They say the doctor tried to revive the child but could not.   21 month old Kourtney Straughan was pronounced dead on the scene.
