ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – With major interstates in the St Louis area to be closed at times over the next several days…MODOT plans a news conference Thursday to discuss the projects.
The closures will take place on sections of I-64, I-44 and I-270.
Starting Friday, June 1, at 7 p.m., crews will shift two lanes of westbound I-44 near Antire Road to eastbound lanes as part of an on-going pavement repair and resurfacing project. One lane will be closed around the clock in each direction until mid-September. In addition, the westbound I-44 entrance and exit ramp at Antire Road will be closed for the month of June.
Starting Friday, June 1, crews will close all lanes of westbound I-64 downtown between Broadway and 21st Street at 10 a.m. The ramps from 10th and 14th Street to westbound I-64 will remain open. All lanes will reopen by 3 a.m. Monday. The signed detour around the closure is I-44 to Jefferson.
Starting Tuesday, June 5, crews will close I-270 from Manchester Road to Big Bend for up to 15 minutes at approximately 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to blast rock as part of the widening construction. Crews will need to blast and then clear any rock from the roadway before reopening the interstate. These closures will occur on weekdays throughout the summer.
