KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)-Kansas City is keeping the Big 12 basketball tournament at the Sprint Center at least through 2016.

The conference announced a two-year extension yesterday. It’s hosted the event the last three years.

With Missouri leaving for the Southeastern Conference, there’d been some talk of the tourney moving to Dallas or Oklahoma City.

Still, it’s a short drive from Kansas and Kansas State originally Big Eight schools.
