Ballwin Burn Victim Remains Hospitalized

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – An 85-year-old Ballwin woman, Ann Conger, remains hospitalized in critical condition following a fire at her home Saturday night.

The blaze broke out shortly after 9 p.m. at the home in the 100 block of Coral Terrace.

Her husband, Fred Conger, got out safely but was treated for smoke inhalation.

Two Ballwin police officers were injured when they tried to smash out a window to reach the woman trapped in an upstairs bedroom.

They, and the woman’s husband, are out of the hospital.

Investigators say a short in a video recorder may have been the source of the fire.
