High-Speed Chase Leads To Fatal Crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) –  A driver attempting to get away from police late Sunday night was killed in a crash.

It happened on Veterans Memorial Parkway near Stracks Church Road in Warren County just after 10:30 p.m.

Police say 27-year-old Ted Fitzgerald of St. Peters was leading officers on a high-speed chase when he lost control on a curve and crashed through a guardrail.

Fitzgerald was thrown from the pick-up and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Also:

A  7-year-old boy was killed when a side-by-side ATV with three people on board overturned on a road near Kirksville Sunday night.

The ATV came to rest on top of Brody Schoonover of Kirksville, who was dead at the scene.

The 26-year-old driver, who’s from Texas, and a 6-year-old boy also in the ATV escaped with minor injuries.
