BELLEVILLE (KMOX) – The trial of a Fairview Heights man charged in the murder of a five-month-old baby ends in a mistrial.

The Belleville News Democrat reports St. Clair County Judge Michael Cook made the ruling early Saturday morning in the case of 26-year-old Kenneth Zook.

Zook is accused of shaking Alayna Frazier to death in February, 2008 at a Belleville apartment.

Zook’s attorney said his client’s actions were not intentional, and he was in a heroin haze when he called 9-1-1 for help.
