Cory Atkinson Expected to Plead Guilty in Federal Court Today
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Four days after pleading guilty to state charges, former US Fidelis Co-owner Cory Atkinson is expected to plead guilty today to federal charges stemming from his running of the now-bankrupt company.
Atkinson faces federal charges of mail and wire fraud and filing false income tax returns.
Last week he pleaded guilty in St. Charles County to insurance fraud, unlawful merchandising and stealing by deceit. Prosecutors are seeking four years in prison. Cory will be sentenced in on the state charges in September, after he is sentenced in the federal case.
Cory’s brother and former US Fidelis co-owner Darain faces eight years in prison after pleading guilty to state and federal charges. He’s to be sentenced in July.
