ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor, KTU, will close lanes on Page Avenue, starting Wednesday, as part of a project to replace the driving surface of a bridge over the River Des Peres.

The bridge is just west of Pennsylvania Avenue. Crews will close one lane in each direction weeknights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., starting Wednesday, June 20 for the next month.

During those night-time lane closures, left turns from side streets and businesses around Page Avenue and Pennsylvania may be restricted or prohibited for safety. In addition, some entrances to businesses may be closed; in no case will access to any business be removed completely.

Motorists will experience delays during this work and are encouraged to use alternate routes. Plan ahead — for ways to avoid work zones, call 1-888-ASK- MODOT or visit our website at www.modot.org

This bridge is one of 802 bridges the department has scheduled for replacement before 2014.
