JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Some Missouri residents are still waiting for a refund check on their individual state income taxes.
But the Missouri Department of Revenue says those checks should be in the mail by the end of the month, unless a tax return had errors that require further action. Missouri’s fiscal year ends June 30.
As of the start of this week, about 97 percent of the refunds had been issued. That trails a little behind last year.
Figures from the revenue department show 1.58 million refunds have been issued totaling more than $728 million. At a comparable point last year, the state had issued 1.64 million refunds totaling nearly $763 million.
