ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX)– Anheuser Busch has joined the first phase of Ballpark Village. The giant brewer has reached an agreement with the Cardinals and Cordish Companies and will become an anchor partner in Phase One of the project.
A licensing and sponsorship agreement was announced that will create a 30-thousand square foot venue that will include a beer garden, a restaurant and a roof-top deck.
Cardinals President Bill Dewitt the Third said “it will showcase AB’s brands and its history and will strengthen an already great corporate relationship.”
In announcing the partnership with Anheuser Busch, Dewitt also released more details about Cardinals Nation, a separate but interconnected venue that will include a restaurant with three patios, a museum, Cardinals Hall of Fame and a seating deck that will look into the ballpark. It will also have large flat screen TVs and other multimedia features.
Still another part of Phase One of Ballpark Village will be the St. Louis Live Entertainment Plaza, with a live stage and a forty foot LED screen above the stage.
Construction of the approximately 100-million dollar first phase of Ballpark Village is expected to get underway later this year. Phase one will have more than 100-thousand square feet of retail and entertainment space on over two blocks along Clark Street just North of Busch Stadium.
Cardinals Nation, the Anheuser Busch venue and the St. Louis Live Plaza will make up about half of that phase-one space.
Phase one also includes improvements to streets, sidewalks , utilities and infrastructure and is expected to create more than 1,000 construction jobs and more than 500 permanent jobs.
