Peabody Opera House reopens in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOX)- The Peabody Opera House and Scottrade Center are hosting a job fair to fill many part-time positions.

The job fair will be June 26 and June 28 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Scottrade Center at 14th Street and Clark Avenue.

Director of Human Resources, Val Brinker says they are hiring part-time event staff for mostly nights and weekends for both venues.

“We have about 125 positions that we are looking to fill,” Brinker says.

She says positions include guests service hosts, which are ushers and ticket-takers, and security officers. Levy Restaurants, which is the food and beverage provider for both venues, is hiring as well.

“They will also be on sight at the job fair, trying to fill all of their positions, such as bartenders, food servers, and concession stand employees,” Brinker says.

She says there is no deadline for applying, and applicants can apply to their websites or at the job fairs.

“We don’t have a cut off,” Brinker says. “As soon as we find 125 or so people who are friendly, good with guests, and have great guest services, we’ll be done hiring.”

Brinker says interviewing will begin in the middle of July, and hiring will be towards the last week of July.

“They need to be prepared to fill out a job application (at the job fair),” Brinker says. “A resume always helps. Beyond that, they just need to bring their smile.”
