CASTLEWOOD STATE PARK, Mo. (KMOX) – Two young boys were rescued from the Meramec River at Castlewood State Park Tuesday night.
They were swimming and got into trouble in the swift current.
Three teens heard them call for help and swam to their rescue and pulled them ashore.
Metro West Fire Protection District Spokesman Mike Thiemann told KMOX the two boys are lucky to be alive.
The teens that rescued them formed a human chain and pulled the boys to safety. Neither required hospitalization.
Thiemann says “another fifteen or twenty yards down stream and they would have been in the worst part of the river.”
Neither of the young boys needed hospitalization.
