ST. LOUIS (KMOX)- The Fourth of July celebration will not have fireworks this year in some areas across the region.
The extreme heat is causing the St. Louis region to be very dry, making it dangerous to shoot off fireworks.
Many communities in the area are canceling their fireworks displays to prevent any fires that could happen because of the extreme heat.
Below is a list of places that have canceled their Fourth of July fireworks display:

Columbia, Ill.
Dexter
Ellisville
Eureka
Farmington, Mo.
Kirkwood (concert also cancelled)
Manchester (moved to Aug. 3)
Pacific
Potosi
Six Flags
Wahington, Mo.
Webster Groves
