ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — In baseball, the term “hit the showers” had new meaning Sunday.

Over one-hundred thousand Cardinals fans braved the 104 degree heat over the weekend to see the Cardinals play.

Weekend baseball fans had “in-and-out” privileges during the game to cool off in the outdoor showers.

Well over one-hundred people sought relief from the heat at ballpark first aid centers, a third of them staff members needing help themselves to cope with the heat.
