LAKE WAPPAPELLO, Mo. (KMOX) - An Arnold woman suffered serious injuries while riding an inner tube in southeast Missouri Tuesday.
The Missouri State Water Patrol says 50-year-old Tammy Leighton was riding a tube being pulled by a motorboat when they hit a wave.
Leighton was thrown high into the air and was knocked unconscious when she hit the water.
She was airlifted from Wappapello Lake in Wayne County to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
