St. Louis Man Resuscitated After Nearly Drowning In Meramec River

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) –  A near-drowning reported on the Meramec River Wednesday.

The Missouri State Water Patrol says 54-year-old Gerald Shockley went under the water to test the river’s depth near George Winter Park Wednesday and never resurfaced.

He was pulled from the water and bystanders used CPR to resuscitate Shockley until an EMS unit arrived at the scene.

He was airlifted to Mercy Hospital where he’s in serious condition.
