BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (AP)- A fire is burning at a landfill in the Kansas City suburb of Blue Springs.

The Kansas City Star reported that the fire broke out Saturday afternoon.

The Central Jackson County Fire Protection District says the fire is contained and is in no danger of spreading. But officials say the blaze could continue to smolder for several days until it burns itself out.

Officials haven’t determined what sparked the fire.
