MARSHALL, Mo. (AP)- The body of a missing 18-month-old has been found on a central Missouri creek bank after her disorientated mother showed up at someone’s house and recalled leaving the girl there.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release that the girl was found early Sunday.
Authorities have been searching for the girl’s mother since Thursday. She is wanted in connection with a pickup truck that was stolen and left abandoned in a wheat field.
Meanwhile, the woman’s relatives contacted authorities, saying they were unable to contact the woman and that she had her daughter with her.
Authorities searched for the mother and daughter Saturday. But they found nothing until the mother showed up at a home that night talking about her daughter.
No charges have been filed.
