KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMOX) — Vice President Joe Biden is helping raise money for the reelection campaign of Democratic U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill.
Biden attended a private fundraiser Monday in Kansas City with McCaskill. While in town, his wife Jill Biden held a public discussion with members of the Missouri National Guard.
Over the weekend, KMOX caught up with McCaskill as she officially launched her reelection campaign office in St. Louis. When asked if she is trying to distance herself from the President, McCaskill responded “I support the President. And if the President were here—which I’ve asked him to come and help me campaign — he’d say she is a great Senator, but she can be a real pain in the you-know-what.”
Its been reported that McCaskill might not attend the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte this year.
McCaskill faces no serious opposition in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.
Three Republicans (John Brunner, Sarah Steelman, and Todd Akin) are campaigning for the chance to face her in November.
