Two Charged With Murder In South St. Louis Shootout

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Two young men now face murder charges in connection with a home invasion and police shootout that left their alleged accomplice dead.
20-year-old Roderick McAllister and 19-year-old Derez Austell are charged with 2nd-degree murder because the third man, 22-year-old Brandon Jones, was shot and killed after pointing his gun at officers responding to a break-in in the 6200 block of Famous Tuesday.

A burglary suspect is dead, two others are in custody, and an officer’s patrol car is upside down in a chaotic scene near Dogtown in south St. Louis.
It all started when several people decided to burglarize a home in the 6200 block of Famous Avenue.
Police says the homeowner was inside the home at the time and alerted police.

When police arrived two suspects came out of the house with guns drawn firing on officers.
The officers fired back, hitting one suspect in the chest. He was taken to local hospital where he later died. He is identified as 23 year-old Brandon Jones.
Several other suspects fled the scene. Police say they found two men in a nearby more than an hour after the initial incident.
They have been taken into police custody.
Police continue to search for a woman who fled the scene in a blue SUV.
The Ford Explorer was found abandoned in the 2900 block of Pestalozzi.
The woman remains at large.
Meanwhile, in a related incident, a St. Louis Police car headed to the scene crashed into another car at Tamm and Manchester.
Police say both the officer and the driver of the other car suffered only minor injuries.
