PERRYVILLE, Mo. (AP)– A southeast Missouri man is hospitalized after his car overturned while he was fleeing a sheriff’s deputy.

The Southeast Missourian reports that 19-year-old Dylan Bohnert of Perryville is in serious condition at Saint Louis University Hospital.

The accident happened about 2:50 a.m. Sunday. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a deputy tried to make a traffic stop on a Perry County road when Bohnert drove away and lost control on a curve, struck a tree and overturned.
