ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A third death in St. Louis County as a result of this prolonged heat wave has been confirmed.
An 89-year-old Ballwin man was the latest victim.
Authorities say the air conditioning was not working and the temperature inside the victim’s home in the 400 block of Monticello Drive was 91 degrees.
Concerned neighbors had contacted police on Tuesday because they hadn’t seen the victim since Sunday.
Also, it’s now been determined that a homeless man in East St. Louis died as a result of the intense heat.
The St. Louis region has now recorded a total of 23 heat deaths this summer.
