Decomposing Foot Found on St. Charles Boat Ramp

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOX) — The St. Charles County Sheriff’s office is investigating a human foot found along the Mississippi River.

Lt. David Teifenbrunn says a resident of the Carmel Woods subdivision found what looked like a shoe on a boat ramp by the water’s edge.

“Upon picking up the shoes it felt a little heavier than normal and also had a sock still within the shoe,” explained Teifenbrunn. “When he investigated and looked into the sock there was human remains.”

The shoe is described as a man’s, brown suede, low-cut dress shoe size 11.5.

Teifenbrunn says there is no telling where the foot came from.

“People fall in and drown, they’re underwater for months or even longer, the body just starts to disintegrate.”

Investigators are checking with local morgues and surrounding agencies to determine if they have a body missing a foot.
