WATERLOO, IL (KMOX) -The three people killed in a late Saturday night, head-on accident south of Waterloo, are identified as a father, mother and young daughter from Evansville, Illinois.
According to The Independent, the victims are 29-year-olds Steven Brickeen Jr and his wife Tiffaine Brickeen and their 4-year-old daughter Mary Jane.
The three were in a car that collided head-on with a van on Route 3 south of Crook Road, at about 11 o’clock Saturday night.
Illinois State Police investigators say the Brickeen’s Grand Am, driven by Steven, crossed the center line for an unknown reason.
The van’s driver, 44-year-old Stephen Wilkes of Maryland Heights, and the passenger, 45-year-old Timothy Gaeng of Bridgeton, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say that Mary Jane was in a safety seat in the back seat of the car. They say her parents were wearing seat belts and air bags did deploy.
