ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – The heat is having an effect on road work on Highway 40.
Work has been delayed because high temperatures have prevented crews from getting everything done.
Missouri’s transportation department will only be closing one lane of traffic on Westbound 40 on Thursday and Friday nights. It will still be closing all of the highway Saturday night and Sunday morning.
When westbound I-64 opens Sunday afternoon, traffic will be driving on the two left lanes, while the right lane will be closed. That means ramps from 10th Street and 14th Street will be closed around the clock. Traffic will need to use Pine Street, Jefferson Avenue or Market/Compton Interchange to access westbound I-64 from the city.
Also, westbound traffic will only be able to use the 9th Street exit from westbound I-64 around the clock.
