ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Even as the mayor, the police, social workers and church pastors call for an end to the rising wave of shootings in the city, the bullets continue to fly.

A teenager was shot in the back in an incident downtown around 3:30 Sunday morning.  Police say it happened on Locust near Tucker.

Someone began shooting at three men, ages 18, 20 and 23. They turned and ran and the 18-year-old was shot in the back. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

A woman sitting in a car nearby was hit by a stray round that grazed her leg.

Sunday night in the 25-hundred block of Hodiamont, a gunman opened fire and wounded three people: a man, a 21-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl. They too are hospitalized.
