KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)- A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 20 years in the shooting deaths last year of two people whose bodies were found inside a burning car.
The Kansas City Star reports 29-year-old Miguel Apodaca was sentenced Friday after previously pleading guilty in Jackson County Circuit Court to second-degree murder.
Jose Morales and Debeney Kreiling were killed in April 2011. Twenty-year-old Todd Fonville, was found guilty Tuesday of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and several other charges in their deaths.
Prosecutors say Fonville shot the victims at a house before their bodies were put in the car. He is facing a mandatory life prison sentence without parole for the first-degree murder conviction.
