WICHITA, Kan. (CBS St. Louis) – A babysitter has been accused of leaving young children alone at a mall so she could smoke meth.
Wichita police say a 35-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday night after she dropped off nine children she was watching at the Towne East Square to go smoke meth.
Wichita Police Capt. Darrell Atteberry told the Wichita Eagle that a mall security guard noticed the unsupervised kids — ranging from an infant to 10 years of age — around 6 p.m.
Police arrested the babysitter when she came back to pick them up at 9:30 p.m.
The Eagle reports she was charged with suspicion of child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Three children were released to a parent. The other six are in custody at the Wichita Children’s Home.
