GLENDALE, MO (KMOX) - An 11-year-old Glendale girl was walking home this afternoon when she was allegedly approached by a man who attempted to lure her inside his truck.

Police say it happened just after 3 o’clock at the corner of North Sappington Road and Nancy Carol Lane. The red Chevrolet pickup truck in question was driven by a white male in his 40s. The man rolled down his passenger window, said, “Hey, come here” to which the young girl replied, “No.” The suspect then told the girl, “It’s okay” but she ran home to the 900 block of Nancy Carol and called 911. The truck drove off, leaving the girl visibly shaken but safe and sound.

The girl described the truck as a 1996-2000 “fire engine red” Chevrolet Silverado. The driver is described as a white male in his 40s with brown hair and no facial hair.

Glendale Police Chief Jeffrey Beaton wrote in a press release that “since the driver’s intentions are not known and that no attempted abduction took place, the department in investigating this as a suspicious incident.”
