As part of their very popular Classic Film Series, the Hi Pointe Theater will be showing “The Searchers” starring John Wayne from 1956 at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 11th. Admission is $5 per person.
The film was directed by John Ford and has Wayne playing a civil war veteran searching for his niece who was captured by Indians. It is ranked 12th by the AFI in the top 100 movies of all time.
Included in the cast of “The Searchers” are also Ward Bond, Jeffrey Hunter, Vera Miles, Natalie Woods, Harry Caray Jr. and Ken Curtis. For more information, click on the link below.
The Hi Pointe features digital projection and sound system, plus a state-of-the-art screen. It first opened in St. Louis in 1929 and is St. Louis’ oldest operating single screen theater.
Opening Friday August 10th as part of the regular feature film schedule at The Hi Pointe is “The Bourne Legacy” starring Jeremy Renner. Regular admission costs at The Hi Pointe is $8.50 per person, which is currently $2 less than most of the major multi-screen cinemas in St. Louis.
