ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) - Ann Wagner has won the Republican spot in Missouri’s second congressional district.
She defeated three other Republicans for the spot by getting 66 percent of the vote. The newly drawn second district is heavily Republican. It was Congressman Todd Akin’s seat, but he left it to win the Republican nomination for Senate.
Wagner has served as the Ambassador the Luxembourg, the Missouri Republican Party Chair and the Co-Chair of the National Republican Committee. She says she thinks the connections she’s made in her years in politics have helped her campaign run smoothly.
“But we regroup tomorrow,” she said.
She said she’s committing to help other Republicans get elected in November.
“I’ve always been a team player,” she said.
