ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to their game this afternoon that they have traded infielder Tyler Greene to the Houston Astros in exchange for a player-to-be-named-later or cash considerations.

The Cardinals will play with 24 active players this afternoon and will announce an addition to the 25-man active roster prior to tomorrow night’s game at Philadelphia.

Greene, 28, was batting .218 with 4 home runs, 19 RBI and 9 stolen bases in 77 games this season, making the majority of his appearances at second base.
