EDWARDSVILLE, IL. (KMOX) – Parents in Edwardsville plan to make their voices heard at Monday’s school board meeting. The board has already made its final contract offer, which the teachers rejected.
Parent Elise Rebmann told KMOX another issue will be the district’s increase in class sizes. She claims the district has already implemented larger classes even though there is no new contract agreement.
“We moved here because of the great schools, from St. Louis, and we love it but we are so concerned. How are we going to attract business, how are we going to attract young families. Everyone likes the small class sizes” said Rebmann.
The scheduled start of school in Edwardsville is August 15th. Even though Members of the Edwardsville Education Association rejected the administration’s last offer , it has yet to file a notice of intent to strike.
