CLAYTON, MO (KMOX)-There won’t be a final determination until toxicology results are in, but preliminary autopsy results indicate that the 12-year-old boy who died in the Meramec River Sunday night, drowned.

St. Louis County Police say the autopsy uncovered no signs of trauma on Christopher Marks’ body inconsistent with a drowning victim.

Toxicology tests could take weeks to complete.

Police are investigating reports that Christopher and other youths were drinking while on an outing with his setpfather on Sunday night.  Christopher’s body was found early Tuesday evening, five miles downstream from where he disappeared.
