ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Here’s a rundown of some of the area’s biggest charity events this weekend. Get out and make a difference!
- Presented by Brown Shoe Company, the Young Friends of Children’s Hospital annual “Kickball for a Cause” tournament is Saturday at Shaw Park. Proceeds benefit St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Camp Hope, a summer camp for children and families living with HIV/AIDS. Over 40 teams of young professionals and corporations in the St. Louis area will be playing in the tournament.
- The 20th annual Lou Brock Golf Classic kicks off Saturday night at Whitmoor Country Club with a dinner auction. The golf tournament is Monday at Whitmoor. Proceeds going to Lindenwood University, which will use the funds for the Lou Brock Scholarship Fund and facility enhancements on the Lindenwood campus. (I’ll host the dinner and post-round ceremony.)
- The Jack Buck Golf Classic opens with an auction Sunday at Norwood Hills Country Club, benefiting the Gateway Chaper of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The sold-out golf tournament is Monday at Norwood Hills. The Jack Buck Golf Classic is the longest-running charity golf tournament west of the Mississippi and, to date, has raised over $7 million for Cystic Fibrosis research, patient services, public information and education. (The dinner will be hosted by yours truly, as well. Come up and say hi.)
