UPDATE: Warren County Man Drowned in Shallow Puddle

WARRENTON, Mo. (KMOX) – The Major Case Squad has concluded that no foul play was involved in the death of a 22-year old man whose body was found Sunday near Highway 47 in a remote area over the weekend.

Andrew Ell drowned in six-to-eight inches of water in a ravine, according to Lt. Mark Schimweg.

“Alcohol consumption may have been a contributing factor to this,” Schimweg said.

Police stopped short of saying Ell was drunk, because they are still awaiting toxicology results.

But police say Ell had been out earlier with friends and had been seen walking along the road alone.

There was no sign of any struggle, and no indication he was held under water by anyone, Schimweg said.
