Damage, Power Outages Reported Following Storm

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Some hail and wind damage is being reported across the area, along with power outages.

One inch hail was reported in Webster Groves. Three-quarter inch hail was reported in Poplar Bluff along with 50 mile per hour winds. Quarter inch hail was reported in Festus. In Illinois, quarter size hail was reported in Granite City, Madison, Belleville and New Baden.

At the airport in Centralia, winds were clocked at 58 miles-per-hour. In Hoffman, Illinois, in Clinton County, numerous one-foot diameter trees are reported down.

In Sparta, at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex, tents and trees were taken down. There has also been tree branch damage reported in O’Fallon Illinois.

At one time, power outages in the immediate St. Louis City and County area numbered over five thousand.

In the Metro East, about four thousand Ameren Illinois customers were without power.
