Car Hits Man In St. Louis, Just Misses Police
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis city police are still looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run, late Saturday, that began on Washington Avenue.
Police spokesman David Marzullo says a patrol car with lights on attempted to stop a white Chevy Impala in the 1100 block because people were hanging out of the car’s sunroof, causing a disturbance.
Marzullo says the suspect responded by flooring the gas pedal, “Two officers who were manning the barricades had to dive out of the way of the car as it turned north onto 14th Street. As it turned north, the car struck a victim, propelling him into the passenger side window of a vehicle stopped at a traffic light.”
Marzullo says the victim suffered cuts and bruises.
Police in Brooklyn, Ill. later found the car at Fifth and Canal, but have not located the suspect.
