A 25-year-old Washington Park man was charged late Saturday with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in connection with a St. Louis teenager who said she was held captive in his home for nearly three years.
St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly says Steven Johnson had sex with the then-underage girl.
Johnson’s mother, 54-year-old Owida Johnson, is charged with two misdemeanor counts of child endangerment.
Steven Johnson is held on a two-million dollar bail and his mother’s bail is 15-thousand dollars.

No court date has been set.

Kelly says the Johnson home on North Kingshighway was unsafe and unsanitary with exposed wiring, rotten food in the refrigerator and animal feces on the floor.

In addition to the sex charges, Steven Johnson is facing drug and weapons charges.
