IOWA CITY, Iowa (CBS St. Louis/AP) – Don’t forget your phone at this bar.
A 25-year-old Iowa man is accused of posting a nude photo of a woman on her own Facebook page after he stole her phone and found nude images that had been saved in its files.
Authorities told the Press-Citizen that Atancio Frausto is charged with fourth-degree theft and third-degree harassment. Police say he either stole the smartphone or found it at the Union Bar in Iowa City on Jan. 23, 2011.
Police said the woman was “mortified, alarmed, embarrassed and very upset” when her friends told her the nude photo was online.
The woman also told police she received a text message, allegedly sent by Frausto, which said she could get the phone back if she agreed to perform sex acts with him.
Police said Frausto threw the phone – valued at $299 – out of his car in North Liberty.
A public phone listing for Frausto could not be found. Online court records don’t list the name of his attorney.
