ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  The St. Louis riverfront was a dangerous place to be overnight Monday.

A couple reported that just after midnight they were sitting on the hood of their car at Leonor K. Sullivan and Poplar when a green pickup truck pulled up to them.

A man got out of the truck with a handgun and opened fire, striking the male victim in the hand and shoulder.

The female victim ran off as suspects drove off in the green pickup and the couple’s stolen car.

It was later recovered in Brooklyn Illinois and police made two arrests.

The shooting victim’s hospitalized in stable condition.

A couple of hours before that happened, two people had reported that while sitting in their SUV along Leonor K. Sullivan they heard gunshots and the rear passenger window was shot out.

They were not injured.
