CHESTERFIELD, MO. (KMOX) - Chesterfield city officials might be wondering what nature has against their city’s fireworks display.
After dry conditions forced them to postpone the city’s Independence Day fireworks display until this weekend’s “Forks and Corks” event, predicted rain is forcing them to cancel that celebration.
Chesterfield Public Services Director Mike Geisel tells KMOX the fireworks are paid for so they will be shot off, eventually.
“They were already under contract, we just want to make sure we get them and we incorporate them into one of 0ur events,” Geisel said.
He says that in the worst-case scenario, the fireworks will be added to next year’s Independence Day celebration.
