ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The quarterback who stepped in as starting quarterback for the St. Louis Rams after Sam Bradford got hurt late last season was among the roster cuts announced by new head coach Jeff Fisher on Friday.
Longtime NFL veteran QB Kellen Clemens was among the players released as the Rams sought to make the league maximum of 53.
Two NFL veteran free agents picked up by St. Louis for training camp were also cut— FB Ovie Mughelli and DE Vernon Gholston.
Others not making the squad for the regular season include: DT Cornell Banks; C Tim Barnes; QB Tom Brandstater; DE Mason Brodine; LB Aaron Brown; LB Sammy Brown; DB Kendric Burney; TE Ben Guidugli; TE Cory Harkey; C T. Bob Hebert; DE Jamaar Jarrett; WR Nick Johnson; T Joe Long; G Bryan Mattison; TE Deangelo Peterson; RB Chase Reynolds; DE Scott Smith; and T Jose Valdez.
