COLLINSVILLE, IL (KMOX) – Those looking for work and those looking for workers will come together next week at a job fair in the Metro East.
With an unemployment rate over 10 percent in St. Clair County, the job fair at the Gateway Center in Collinsville is expected to be well attended, says County Board Chair Mark Kern.
“Last year we attracted more than fifty employers and over 1,600 job-seekers,” Kern said. “And we’re hoping to see an even bigger rise this year.”
He says it’s not too late for companies to sign up for free to recruit at the job fair. Some of the companies slated to attend include Ameren, Solutia and Prairie State Energy.
Kern says there are real jobs available ranging from hourly wages to salaried positions.
