Fifth Pike County Escapee Back in Custody

BOWLING GREEN, Mo. (KMOX) — The 5th and final inmate who escaped over the weekend from the Pike County Jail has been captured.
Sheriff Stephen Korte reports 40-year-old William John Thomas Wilkerson, Jr. of Florissant was arrested after a report of a suspicious person at an apartment complex in St. Louis County, early Wednesday morning.
Wilkerson, Jr. was one of five men who removed a shower head and crawled through an 11-inch hole to a service area which allowed them access to the outside.
Three of the men: 22-year-old Jacob A. Darnell, 25-year-old Jason A. Darnell and 27-year-old Emanuel G. Chatman were found panhandling outside a convenience store in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
The fourth 49-year-old Joseph Verive turned himself in Monday afternoon.
