Jogger Attacked in Forest Park, Police Search for Suspect

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – St. Louis police are searching for a suspect wanted in an attempted rape in Forest Park, near the St. Louis Zoo.

A 27-year-old female jogger told police she was attacked just before 9:00 p.m. Tuesday by a man with shoulder length braids and wearing a white shirt. He allegedly grabbed the woman and cut her on the face and neck with an object, possibly a rock as she was running on the jogging trail near Tamm Avenue.

The woman managed to fight off her attacker and ran to a Mobile gas station for help.

Police launched a manhunt of the area, involving k-9 units, mounted officers and even their helicopter. So far the suspect has managed to elude capture.

The victim is expected to be OK.
