TROY, IL (KMOX) - Police are releasing more information about a major drug bust in Madison County last weekend.

It occurred just after midnight, September 9 on I-55 northbound near Troy, Illinois.

According to police, a trooper pulled over an SUV for a lane violation. Given permission to search the vehicle, a K-9 unit found 3.6 pounds of methamphetamine.

The meth has an estimated street value of $330,000.

Charges are pending against the suspect, 31-year-old Julian Astorga Moreno of Phoeniz, Arizona. He also faces possible deportation.
