ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A $125 million retail development planned for Richmond Heights is off.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports Pace Properties Inc. could not come to an agreement with some property owners in the Hadley Township neighborhood, and would not use eminent domain to try to force the owners to sell.

Pace had planned to develop a 400,000 square foot, two-level retail center.

Another developer, Menard Inc. of Wisconsin still wants to develop the south part of the neighborhood, near the Walmart in Maplewood.

Richmond Heights City Manager Amy Hamilton told the Post Dispatch they expect to learn more regarding Menard’s negotiations with property owners in the next 30 days.
