Missouri Teen Sentenced For Fatal Drunk Driving Accident

WARRENTON, MO (KMOX) – A Warrenton teenager has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for a drunk driving accident that killed an elderly couple.

Prosecutors say 16-year-old Zacheriah Cain was drunk and speeding last May when his vehicle collided with an ATV. The accident killed 81-year-old Victor and 82-year-old Virginia Harrell of Lincoln County.

Cain, now 18, was charged with two felony counts of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and received the maximum sentence on each count.

“Cases like this are never easy,” Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney Leah Askey said in a press release. “Two innocent people lost their lives as a result of a sixteen-year-old’s poor choice. Zach Cain will spend much of his young adult life in prison for the decision he made on that fateful day last May.”
