ST. PETERS, Mo. (KMOX) -  St. Peters police believe they’ve solved a holdup at a check cashing store that happened more than four months ago.

37-year-old Darrell I. Bolden of Hillsdale was charged Wednesday after investigators obtained a DNA match from evidence left behind at another robbery scene.

He’s accused of robbing the Check ‘n Go store on Mexico Rd. in St. Peters on May 5th.

That was about three months after Bolden had been released from federal prison for a bank robbery in Illinois back in 1999.

Following his arrest Bolden reportedly told police investigators that he was responsible for a string of robberies throughout St. Louis County, up to seven in all.

Bolden said he resorted to armed robbery to feed a gambling problem.
